Hello Julie

The site is waiting with a rather a lot of other sites for review and I can't estimate how long it will take to get reviewed.

Since you talk about your client’s site one would presume that you are a professional involved in SEO or SEM. If you want to help your clients sites get listed in a timely fashion it would be helpful if you submitted titles and descriptions that attempt to meet the directory guidelines.

You do your clients a disservice with submissions such as this one as editors faced with a long queue are more likely to start with the more reasonable submissions.

Hi John - Thank you for your response. I am confused about what didn't meet with ODP guidelines, as my goal is to make my submission as concise as possible. Just wanted specifics so I can change my procedure on this end to make editorial review as streatmlined for the editor as possible. Thanks for your help - Julie

The Open Directory Project has a style guide for titles and descriptions. You can read our expectations in the Guidelines.

And, while you are doing some "light" reading, you might want to begin to set your client's expectations. Getting a site reviewed can take from a few hours to more than two years. Once you have made your submission, there is absolutely nothing you can do to move the process along, and it might be helpful to your long-term client expectation to make sure they understand this -- else you'll find yourself getting hammered on a regular basis for someting you cannot control or influence.

Don't ya just hate it when clients do that?
