I thought that until my competition gorp.com seems to be in many directory categories along with the main category. Any suggestions on what I could do to get as many listings as them <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks.

Getting the same number of listings as Gorp is simple, it involves merely three things:

1) Improve your site navigation until it is as easy an intuitive as theirs (in the opinion of a disinterested bystander, and IMO it's not even close right now.)
2) Add content until you have more content, of at least comparable quality. (unless the navigation is even worse than I thing, you're not remotely close here either.)
3) [Most Important of all!] Have finished both of the above steps by November 2000, so that the uniqueness of the site would be measured by what was available on the web at that time.

Failure to complete ANY ONE of these tasks successfully would make your goal impossible to achieve.

Another attitude adjustment you need to make when communicating with people who don't share your proprietary interest in the site: "Gorp is who you see as your competitor" is not at all equivalent to "anyone else on earth would ever suppose you were Gorp's competitor." And the latter question is what an editor would be judging.

Hello,

Thank you for responding but I am not sure why your message seems to be taking a very negative tone. I am sorry that you don't like my site personally but I'm not sure what that has to do with the question that I asked.

I do agree with you that gorp has much more content than I do. I consider them my compition on the fact that they have a directory of things to do. They do much more than just that I know. But since the categories that we are talking about are Outdoors: Directories and Outdoors: Fishing: Directories I felt that the additional content was not important in this situation. I've obviously misunderstood which is why I am here and asked.

The most usefull point that you had was point 3. I was unaware of the magic date of "November 2000". At least I now know that all my other compitition is on the same playing field as I am and that gorp is an exception since they have been around a lot longer.

Thanks for you time,
daisho
