I am posting to request the status of my submission of http://www.pokerstove.com to the category

http://www.dmoz.com/Games/Gambling/Poker/Software_and_Tools/

in September 2004. I'm afraid I may have submitted it repeatedly before I realized that only one submission was necessary, with the last submission being in November. I understand that it may take months (or years) for the site to be reviewed. I will watch this thread for any change in status.

I didn't get a response from this the first time around, so I thought a give it a bump.

I noticed that the category to which I submitted the link doesn't seem to have a volunteer editor. I would be willing to volunteer my time, but I don't want to look like I'm just trying to sneak my way into DMOZ. What is the appropriate way of volunteering when you have a pending submission?

Yes, volunteer for a totally different category in a different part of the directory.

Small subcategories in Regional/ are often a good starting place.

Your site was rejected on Saturday. It seems it didn't work then. You may resubmit.

The best way to avoid the impression that you're just trying to get your site in when volunteering is applying for a category that is completely unrelated to your site. You could apply for a category about sports clubs in your home town, for example. :)

Well, I guess I'll resubmit. I wonder if the rejection was automated?

As far as volunteering for another category, that might be possible. Unforutnatly, I'm fairly monochromatic in my interested. :)

We don't reject submissions automatically. Each and every submission will be handled by a human editor.
