Your site has been rejected in the past for lack of content. Since then the rules for inclusion of directory sites have been tightened significantly and I'm afraid your site will not qualify for inclusion unless there is a massive increase in content.

You'd need to add thousands of extra sites to qualify for a listing, sorry.

I have to disagree with dfy here. Your directory has more than enough unique content to qualify for a listing, IMHO.

Well, thank you. I don't know why you edited my previous post, I wasn't trying to flame anyone.

Now I'm getting two answers. Does it have enough content to be added or not?

I don't know why you previous post was removed either, I saw no flame in it. In fact I almost replied to say that I appreciated the sentiment. Anyway ...

I think the difference in opinion on your site content is down to the areas that apeuro and I work in. I run around Business/ and Shopping/ where submissions are all geared towards selling things. Understandably we require very high standards from sites submitted to these areas. In contrast, apeuro does a lot of work in Regional/ and Society/, where the rules are very different. Unfortunately neither of us has any great experience in Arts/.

Having thought it through, I suspect that apeuro is closer to the mark on this one. Lets hope a dedicated Arts editor will come along and give you more definitive advice.

I don't know. I'm thinking it's one of those sites that you could go either way on, depending on how deep you looked. I mean, there are an awful lot of empty subcategories but then there's also some with a fair bunch of links. Mind you, most if not all of those links are already listed in the ODP so...???

I do have one question (totally from an ordinary sci fi fan POV, not as an editor), psiprone -- why so many "Cool" designations in any given category? It really seems to water down the effect of the designation, having 10 or more sites in the same category given it. You might want to be a little more selective (if you can).

I'm still trying to figure out the bug in that area. I never marked so many sites with the cool designation. As far as the empty categories, I created those expecting submitters to fill those in with submissions, just trying to be one step ahead of them by having a subcategory ready for them.

Empty cats make directory sites look weaker. Evaluating sites with a lot of cats but only a handful with links is tough, the empty cats tend to overwhelm the ones with sites. ODP only creates subcats when there are sites to publish in them, may be a good way to go.

That was certainly a contributary factor in my early decision. I randomly check categories in directory sites, and a random shuffle round yours showed that a lot of the subcategories were empty. This lead me to believe that there was very little content, when I really ought to have ignored them and focused on what *was* there.

I guess I can see your point about the empty categories. People visiting meet feel the same way. But, just above the search box it does say 1006 sites in the directory. Would it help at all if the empty categories received two or three sites each to start out?
