????

Your links describe affiliate sites, but my site offers a service. People can pay to advertise thier property on my site. Just like all the other sites listed in the category I am sumitting to.

Category: http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Real_Estate/Directories/

Here is the link that describes my service. It can be found by clicking on "list a property" link.

Is there something else that makes my site "not listable" that I am missing?

Thank you,
Joe

If someone could please explain why Bobrat said my site is not listable. People from anywhere in the world can list a property on the site. The site already has several properties that people have paid to advertise. Listed properties can be updated using a user name and password. I didn't see anything in Bobrats links that disqualify my site from being listed. ?????

Thank you,
Joe

In my previous report I just reported the status of your site. I didn't review it, I didn't make the judgement.

However, having done a quick check - it seems the editor made the correct judgement.

As I said - it's not open to discussion.

If you can't explain why it is not listable, how am I supposed to know what to do next? Should I resubmit to another category? The category I submitted to seems the most relevant, so is there something on the site that makes is not listable? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Joe

Not listable - means simply your site will not be listed. There is nothing that you can do within the ODP.

The reason we don't go into discussions [which I seem to be doing anyway] is that our experience is that it doesn't lead anywhere. As a recent posting in this thread where a site owner insisted he should be listed in one city when he was listed in another, he eventually changed his address on the web site in order to try and get around our guidelines, in the end it's just a waste of time for everyone.

Everyone thinks their site is listable, no-one believes their site violates any of our submittal restructions.

Thank you for replying Bobrat. I understand your side. I've read other posts, about other sites that were not listed. Most of the posts refer to "unique content". One of the things I am planning on doing is writing about each city in my regions. So within time as the site grows will I be able to resumit to the category? Or is my site banned forever? You don't have to go into detail, I would just like to know if I can resubmit in the future.

Thank you for your time,
Joe

No, it isn't banned.

We list web sites for what they are, not what they might become.

Because this forum's rules prohibit discussion/arguing about an individual website's merits or otherwise, this conversation has passed the point of usefulness. Closing.
