What is a mirror?

Hi,

Thank you for the response. You state that one of my "mirrors" has been rejected. What is a "mirror" when it comes to websites?

Mirror Question

Okay...I did some quick research and found what a mirror is in a website. Although I am not aware of having any mirror pages...could you tell me what the address of the link was that has been rejected.

Since you say a mirror has been rejected...would that cause the whole site to be rejected?

Not intentionally. Note that I'm not saying that you suggested the other mirror -- it's possible another submitter or even an editor suggested it.

It's possible that, if there are two mirror sites, "A", and "B", one editor might delete A in favor of B, and the other might delete "B" in favor of "A", more or less at the same time.

Or an editor might intend to delete all but one of a set of mirrors, and mistype and delete all of them.

Should I resubmit?

Since my site may have been unintentionally deleted should I then resubmit?

Actually, because of a DMOZ bug around the time of the discovery of the mirror, I can't tell if you need to resubmit. If the logs were working normally at that time, I could say with confidence that there was no change in the status of the submission which donwiebe found on 05-05-2004.
