Hi,

I have submitted my site in the past 3 months or so to this category: Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Promotion: Search Engine Optimization Firms: S. I keep checking again and again on the category, but seems nothing updated.

I appreciate if you could tell me the status of the http://www.seoing.com.

Thanks

Maybe it is just me but...

Why would you care to be listed?

On your contacts page:

That's a good point, I'm of the same opinion; it doesn't help the users of the directory to list a site that does not provide the services of the category.

Humm.......interesting too... does it mention somewhere in the guideline of the site doesn't provide services couldn't be included in the directory?

I think this forum section is about site status......I don't think that it is about criticising other people's works. Since I feel overwhelm with my works lately, that's the only reason I don't accept new clients. Before, I rent an office and hire an employee, I better be honest with them that I could not handle new clients anymore.....

Anyway hope you do your job right..........

Regards

I don't think that it is about criticising other people's works.

I'm sorry that you feel that way.

Rather than criticizing your work, we are trying to better understand what you are trying to accomplish, and to reconcile that with the directory guidelines.

We don't feel you have done anything wrong (we would not be bashful about saying so if that were the case), we simply don't understand how a directory listing for a company that is not accepting new cusomters will help our customers -- who are the people who surf our directory.

As far as I can see nobody has criticised your work here, and I don't think anybody intended to. But you have to admit that it's very uncommon for a business not to accept new clients, and that from our point of view it's therefore legit to raise the question what the added value of such a site is for this category. We're not talking about your site in general, just about this ODP-specific point.
does it mention somewhere in the guideline of the site doesn't provide services couldn't be included in the directory?
No, but it mentions 'In general, ODP editors should enter sites that represent the following: Original, unique and valuable informational content that contributes something unique to the category's subject.' And we're asked to employ good common sense when making our decisions. :)

I'm sorry if you took my comment as critism, it was not meant that way.

I think we are just pointing out in advance - that your site might not be eligible for listing.

If we got a site that said "Joe's Grocery Store" -- We are no longer open. -- it would not be listed.

I think it's also strange that you want a site listed which will bring you more enquiries, when you are overwhelmed and I could not handle new clients anymore.....

However, I guess you would get income from the Google Ads.

I suppose it's possible that an existing client could lose "your" contact address....and it's possible the FAQs would qualify the site for a listing in our directory even if the business isn't live.

I don't know. I don't edit in Computers.

Offering to trade services with someone for a listing is considered a bribe, something that we react to very badly...very, very badly.

I didn't offer any service for listing in Dmoz....and I don't intend to. All I'm trying to do is explain why I'm not accepting new clients on my site.

If you feel that it is an offering for listing, please disregard it. Now, I'm just question myself, should I volunteer to edit one category in Dmoz?

Thanks
