I submitted the above site to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Generation_X/ and was wondering the status? Did I submit to the wrong category? It's been over a month.

It's waiting to be reviewed in this category, along with slightly less than one hundred others. You'll have to be patient. It's absolutely impossible to forecast when an editor will review it -- could be in the next hour or in the next year

I don't see anything about GenX there, so I would think it is best in the correct letter cat in http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/

Anyway it is waiting for review in the GenX category with a medium-large amount of other suggestions.

No, you never _have_ to do anything, you're a volunteer just like we are.

If you don't do anything, eventually an editor will notice the mismatch and move the site suggestion record, for another editor to review in the right category.

If you want to skip part 1 of the wait, you can go ahead and suggest the URL to the correct category. This may get it to the right editor's attention more rapidly, and it will not be considered spamming.

Your choice, and editors will live with whatever you decide to do.

I think maybe I did misunderstand. I'm not trying to step out of line or be a pest. Is there any way to find out if the resubmission to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/
went through? That is really my main concern. I just want my site to be submitted to the correct place as recommended earlier in this post. I know it takes time to be reviewed, I just did not want it sitting in the wrong queue.

Sorry if there is any confusion.
I originally submitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Generation_X/ but I was advised earlier in this thread that it might be better listed in http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/ . I thought I resubmitted it to the new category, but I'm not sure. Can you tell me if it has been reviewed and if it was submitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/ , any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't find your site in the unreviewed area of Personal Homepages. If you do submit your site there I would advise you go one more category down and submit in the S letter sub-category.

I have some experience in the Personal Homepages category and your site fits there so I went ahead and moved the site over to the

http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/S/

category where it is currently awaiting review with a very large amount of other sites. Looks like the Personal Homepages categories are backlogged - it might be a while.
