Hello! I would like to check the status of the submission of my web site, http://www.StardanceStudio.com. I applied about January 2004 (not sure) and I think previously 1 year before that, but it does not appear to be listed yet.

DMOZ Submission category is:
http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Performing_Arts/Dance/Ballroom/

Could you let me know about the status and perhaps if it is pending/rejected, what could I do to get it reviewed and approved. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yes. Pending.

If pending, yes again. You can submit it to the correct category with a standards-compliant description. And you can ALSO submit to your Locality category. That's three things you haven't done yet.

But why would you think it would be rejected? Maybe if you can explain the suspected reasons for your supposed impending rejection, we could be of more help.

I thought I submitted to the correct DMOZ category:
http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Performing...Dance/Ballroom/
and I believe with a standards-compiant description. But I'm not sure
what's the difference between a Locality category and the one shown
above. Is that not a Locality category?

I only thought I would be rejected because it has taken so long for a
review and I believe I may have submitted once before, about a year ago and
no response then. Also, I read some of the other forum inquiries and some of their requests were rejected. I would really like to get my website listed, it just seems like a long process. As mentioned, not sure of the difference between "correct category" and "Locality category". Can you explain?

Locality = Location = Place you have physical presence = Lomita
http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/L/Lomita

Regional is sites grouped by place
Topical (in this case Arts) is grouped by topic

In this case correct was used to mean correct category of like sites grouped by topic.
since you appear to have an actual physical place of business, it was suggested that you also suggest you site to the Locality category.

Not all sites can be listed either in Arts or in Regional, but some can be listed one or the other, and some in both (and of course, some cannot be listed at all)

As you are physically located in Lomita, California, you may also be eligable for a listing in category http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/L/Lomita/ - so you might like to submit to there as well.
