seems most status requests get a reply of some sort, even if just a read the rules or some such, why none here?

I apologise for the lack of response. It may have been due to the fact that you were a bit short on the required waiting time between making your submittion and posting here. (You're supposed to wait a month.)

Your submission has been received and is awaiting review. If you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 4 January.

Resubmitted site due to catagory change

I had originally submitted http://www.thebeach.vi under Regional: Caribbean: US Virgin Islands: St. John: Travel and Tourism: Travel Guides, since that time the site has been expanded to include the entire US Virgin Islands and I have resubmitted to Regional: Caribbean: US Virgin Islands: Guides and Directories, can someone cancel my original submission?

Thank You

First: No, do not repost. Actually, you should have posted in your previous thread here:

http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18356

But someone will probably merge the two threads, at some point.

Second: I think you have a misunderstanding about a Regional listing. Regional listings have nothing to do with the area that you serve, or what is included on your site. In order to be eligible for a Regional listing you must have a brick and mortar presence in that location. I do not have editing rights in either of those categories. But I did take a quick look at your site, and I can find nothing on the site, such as an address or a map of your actual location, that would indicate that you have such a presence. Your actual location must be evident on the site in order to be listed in Regional.

Edit the post to make the links to both site and category clickable, and a moderator can then move it....

"Regional listings have nothing to do with the area that you serve, or what is included on your site. In order to be eligible for a Regional listing you must have a brick and mortar presence in that location."

There are 4 sites in the catagory I submitted to: http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Caribbean/US_Virgin_Islands/Guides_and_Directories/ , none of them is a brick and mortar store, the are all guides to the US Virgin Islands. Therefore, the statement above makes no sense to me, the fact is that in order to have a .vi domain, the owner of the website must live in the US Virgin Islands (3. MANDATORY RULES FOR SECOND LEVEL DOMAINS.
3.1. Second level domains, i.e. yourcompany.vi will be delegated only to businesses physically operating within the Virgin Islands, or to residents of the Virgin Islands. from http://www.nic.vi ).

This having been said, after reviewing the other domains in the catagory, it seemed like the most appropriate place for the domain to reside.

My question was: I have made changes to the site, it now fits in a different catagory than the one it was originally submitted to and I have resubmitted, do I need to cancel the original submission and if so, how do I do so?

Sorry moishe, my mistake. Disregard what I said. My post would have been correct for most sites in regional, but not for your type of site. An honest newbie mistake on my part. Sorry to mislead you. Hope this helps to get things back on track.

And no you do not need to cancel your original submission. Two submissions do not make you a spammer, and if the second submission is a better category then it is OK.
