I'm new to all this. Does "good amount of other sites" mean that its going to take a really long time before dmoz lists me? Are we talking weeks or months?

You can pretty much count on many months. Of course, if an editor decides to spend a tremendous amount of time cleaning out duplicate, incorrect, or spam submissions, your chances of being listed sooner are better than later. (Please do NOT resubmit)

Still, most Shopping sub-cats are subject to many submissions and some are experiencing backlog due to this.

I would recommend re-using this thread in about two months for a status check.

However, since the site seems to relate only to the UK's Hutchison 3 network, maybe a better category would be http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/

I'm sure you'll recognise some of the other companies in that category.. looks like a better fit to me.
