May I ask why it was moved?

My products cover many different sports: Golf, Surfing, Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, Hiking & Canoeing with more sports to come later.

I don't think it would be appropriate to list me in a specific sport category. I would much rather stay in the women's clothing category that I submitted under since our clothing is geared towards women's sports. Unless there's a general sports category that would better fit my site.

Thanks,
Kim

It does seem a bit odd, but ... no, don't ask.

What I'd recommend you do instead is look for a more specific subcategory of Shopping/Clothing/Women's (Casual seems the best bet) and resubmit.

[I'm guessing] I think the attempt is to move as many sites as possible to subcategories, that's why it says in the cat descripion "Submission to the proper category will speed up the review..."

Editors often do quick looks at sites to help resort them into subcategories. Having the word trail all over the site together with all the picture of bikes probably contributed to the move, but I assume when it was fully reviewed, it would not end up in that category.

So, as said, choosing your own best sub-category in the first place, helps to avoid that delay.

I thought I had done everything right the first time...followed the directions to the T. So forgive me for wanting an absolutely clear picture of what I need to do now...

So you guys can't move me into the Shopping/Womens/Casual until someone looks more closely at my site and realizes that it's not just about cycling.

And my best chance of getting listed sooner is to resubmit under the more specific sub-sub category of Shopping/Womens/Casual...because you no longer want submissions under the more general Shopping/Womens category.

The rules of engagement said that I could only submit once or you guys would get upset and knock me off forever...true?

I'm just trying to figure out if I should resubmit or wait until someone looks at my site more closely....which choice would be legal in your eyes and get me listed faster?

Thanks,
Kim

Yes, an editor could move your submittal to another site. (That has happened already.) My usual advice is to avoid waiting for an editor to do that, review the categories carefully, and submit again. "Casual" may not be the best place -- there may be a good place somewhere in Shopping/Outdoors or somewhere. (I didn't do a complete review of the site or the taxonomy -- that's not what the forums are for.)

Two submittals, particularly if the second one is to a better-fitting category, will not make you a spammer. (The rules of engagement even allow for it!) And what will get the site listed most quickly is finding just the right category for it.

OK, that's waiting for review also.

Note: the new statutory time between status requests in the forum is six months. Hopefully we won't need to see you back then. :)
