When should a site be re-submitted?

Dear ODP staff:
I undertand that the submission process could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to months. My question is how long is too long? and if it has been too long should the site be re-submitted. I summitted my site www.viequestravelguide.com about 5 months ago and it has not been included to this date. Should I re-submmit my site? Any feedback or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work at ODP, the best directory online.

Actually, depending on the category submitted to (large spammy category, or small specific category) the review time can be anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of years. You should not resubmit unless specifically instructed by an editor to do so.

Once you have submitted your site, you need to wait at least 1 month and then you can vist the Site Submission Status thread in this forum and read the Posting Guidelines to properly format a request to check the status. An editor will be able to check and see if the submission was recieved and is awaiting a review. Once you are confirmed to be waiting for review thats it, nothing more you can do but move on to other things. Eventually (there is no way of determining how long) an editor will review the site and determine if it is listable or not.

Please keep in mind that not all sites suggested are listable.

You can return to your original status request thread (I recommend bookmarking it, or you can look at your profile and select find all posts) after 6 months from your last status request and ask again.
