Understanding of the problem I do not.
The problem, simply put, is that you have expectations that we are not willing to accept.
You feel we are under an obligation to review your site. No such oblication exists. Oh, we'll probably look at it, but we are not obliged to do so.
You feel we are obliged to act with a timeframe of your choosing. We are not. Eventually is as good as it gets.
You believe that the fact that we have yet to look at your site is some sort of problem. Perhaps it is, for you, but it is not a problem for us. There are plenty of other sites for us to look at and catalog.
You also seem to convey that you believe being listed is a given. It is not. No website is guaranteed a listing.
Unfortunately, in a world where most everything can be bought and sold, there is a belief that any web directory has an obligation to webmaster and site owners to help these people promote their websites. Few, if any, ODP editors share that belief. When editors chat amongst themselves, the greatest cause of celebration is usually the desicovery of some nifty little hobby site, ugly as all get out, that is buried deep in the caverns of Geocities, or Tripod or some other place like that. And the vast majority of editors would rather spend three hours discovering and listing one good hobby site on the history of left handed guitar players then using the same three hours to list a few dozen car dealers, real estate agents and shopping sites.
