I submitted our site, justjen.com, over one month ago, then I read in a book that I could re-submit after three weeks, so I tried to submit the site yesterday. But the submission form froze up twice, and I dont know if you received my re-submission.

So my first question is whether you have ever received a submission for justjen.com and if you have received it, what the status is.

Sorry for any inconvenience if you received two submissions for the site on Saturday.

Thank you.

Actually the first question is - did you read the post at the begining of this forum labelled "ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING"

I read it but evidently not close enough.

The site was posted to the following category.

http://www.dmoz.com/Shopping/Clothing/Women's/

My original submission was over one month ago, sorry, I jumped the gun and tried to re-post before checking on the status through the forums.

It's waiting for review there - the submission date is March 6, so your resubmission evidently came through. There is no need to submit the site again.

It's waiting for review. Thanks for bumping the thread - these forums are so busy these days that postings get overlooked - it's not intentional...

Sorry, no change.

I almost hate to mention it, you've been so patient, but: the new required time between status checks is six months. We hope not to see you back then, but ... in that category ... good luck anyway.

moving submission for justjen.com

Sounds like the category, http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Women's/, is very difficult to get a posting in due to the large size. There is a sub-category, http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Casual/Women's/, which is just 69 listings that our website is just as appropriate for. May I re-submit to the sub-category? Will this be considered spamming?

Sorry, I searched for any info on how to handle this, but couldnt find an exact answer in your published FAQ.

Thanks for the reminder of the six month wait time. If someone could answer this one question, I will try to learn to be patient.

It should be submitted to the most appropriate category only, I was going to move it to casual--however, while it is women's clothing only it is t-shirt specific. It is now pending review in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Casual/T-Shirts/. There is no need for you do to anything. What would likely have happened is someone would have moved it to where I just did so this is a timesaver for everyone. ;)

General advice: the most specific category usually has the shorter queue, the fewer inappropriate submittals, the higher editor enthusiasm (even from higher-category editors), the shorter average-time-needed-to-review-for-uniqueness ... and most of the time your submittal to the backlogged category will just be moved to the other queue.

A few minutes on your part checking out the more specific categories may save you months or years of needless waiting.
