Please let me know the status of http://www.lasvegas.com, submitted to
1. http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...ocalities/L/Las_Vegas/Guides_and_Directories/
2. http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...L/Las_Vegas/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Guides/
3. http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Lodging/Consolidators/

We want to change the description to:
LasVegas.com - The #1 Source for Hotels, Shows, Deals & More. Search and book Las Vegas. From hotels, shows, flights, nightlife, and golf, to weddings, sightseeing, spas, restaurants, and more.

Or
LasVegas.com is Las Vegas' premier travel Web site, representing the whole Las Vegas experience. LasVegas.com encompasses more than 130 hotels, 180 shows, and 400 restaurants. The site also provides products and information related to spas, attractions, nightlife, wedding chapels, signature tours, golf, and more.

Being entirely promotional and contrary to our editor guidelines, neither description is likely to be used. Don't worry about that - the editor will make one up her/himself when/if the site is listed. You'll subsequently be able to suggest changes; if they're similar to the ones above, don't hold your breath though.

<rhetorical[1]> Is there some particular reason you decided to ignore the submission guidelines that you agreed you'd read and submit to more than one category? </rhetorical>

[1]Don't bother to answer that.

But at the very least, it appears a description rewrite is in order. The current description says "Comprehensive site by the Review-Journal newspaper publishers...". However, in the site's corporate info page, it says that they bought out the Review Journal's domain which is prominently featured on the left hand panel of lasvegas.com.

It seems to me an editor took too quick a look at the site and assumed the R-J had considerable oversight in lasvegas.com which is simply not the case if lasvegas.com now owns the R-J domain. Once you own a domain, you can do all kinds of things with it, like make it seem the current print version of the Review Journal endorses your site. What's confusing here is if they own reviewjournal.com, do they also own the Las Vegas Review Journal Newspaper?

This is getting surreal.

You asked us about three submission that you made, then casually mention that the site is already listed.

It is, in http://editors.dmoz.org/Regional/No..._and_Economy/Reservation_and_Ticket_Services/ which is not any of the categories you mentioned, but that might not be your fault, because it was moved a couple of days ago (and the public side servers probably don't have the update yet) from Regional/North_America/United_States/Nevada/Localities/L/Las_Vegas/Guides_and_Directories

The description was rewritten at the time of move, and new reads:

Book hotels, shows, flights, nightlife, golf, weddings, sightseeing, spas, restaurants, and other activities.

The ODP compliant description should be visible to you within a week or so.

It is reasonable to assume that as your other submissions float to the top of their respective submission pools, they will be declined since one listing is probably the best that you could hope for.

Is there anything else we can do for you?
