I am looking for the status of Max X. Miller Online's September 11, 2001 Memorial Website (http://mxmonline.tripod.com)
submitted to the DMOZ ODP on July 11, 2004 in the category: http://dmoz.org/Society/Issues/Terrorism/Incidents/September_11,_2001/

As a point of reference to the DMOZ ODP editors I would like to point out this site was previously listed in this category but was removed from the DMOZ ODP by the editor because our site had gone offline due to a server crash which cause our website host Tripod to push a ERROR 404 - SITE NOT FOUND message. The problem has since been corrected and our site has since been fully restored and all content is again available.

Any information on the current status would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Max X. Miller

Thank you windharp for your reply. Just one more question is it permissible to contact the editor directly to inquire about the status of my site being listed on the DMOZ or should all inquiries only be done here directly? The reason I ask is it is now over a month since my last inquiry and I still don't see my site listed on DMOZ or should I just wait until February 11, 2005 before I inquire again.

Sincerely,
Max X. Miller

Wait until February. Editors mostly do not reply to emails. Bookmark this thread and reply to it if you do not see it listed before the 6 month interval has past. This has no bearing on when the site might be listed, it is just to help lower the volume of requests, in order for the volunteers to have more time to edit.

Look like it's stuck between editors, one editor reviewed it and accepted the site, but in this case, another editor has to approve that review, and for some reason that did not happen yet.

So what is the next step to take? do I just wait another six months and post another status request and hope that during this time the second editor approves my site?

So is there anything I can do to get this unstuck? or do I have to wait another six months to make another status request to find out whats going on?

Sorry, there's nothing you can do. Keep watching the skies! (Or at least the directory.)

After thinking about this for a while I'm wondering why if my submission was already approved by one editor why does it need to be approved by a second editor?

In some circumstances, a category is being edited by either an editor who is inexperienced, or an editor who does not want to make a full committment to a category, but only wants to help out.

In those case, the reviews they do have to approved by someone else. It applies to all edits the person does, and has nothing to do with your site.

Thank you Bobray... You answered my question even after I deleted it and tried reposting it again. I appreciate your assistance and the assistance of other here.

I will abide by the rules and post a inquiry again in 6 months and by that time my submission request will be over a year old.

Sincerely,
