Hi,

I have submitted my site (URL Removed) once about a year ago, and once again 8 weeks ago to the category:-

Computers: Software: Configuration Management: Bug Tracking: Free

I am trying to find out why it has not been listed or in fact why someone has not had the courtesy to at least explain to me what is wrong.

I don't beleive there is any reason for it not to be listed.

Its free / non-commercial / no ads and above all falls perfectly into the applyed for category.

Could some one please look into this for me, I would really appreciate it.

Regards

Artisan,

I have read both those articles before.

I am just getting a little impatient as you can probably imagine.

Can you at least confirm if there is actually an editor that is looking after that particular category?

I don't want to wait 1 more year just to guess that it must have been rejected for some unknown reason. Only to re-submit it once again. I will be old and grey by the time it may or may not get in?

I know its voluntary but someone has to take responsibility for something.

I would like a contact email address please as I would like to make an official complaint.

Visit your category of interest and use the Report Abuse link at the top of the page.

Any reply will probably be along the lines of
You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

There are 200 editors who can edit anywhere. There are also about 7000 active editors and 590,000 categories.

Please do not keep submitting your site. Two suggestions are not enough to be labeled a spammer, but eventually it can happen with the attendant negative consequences. Suggestions do not expire, and will be sitting in the category pool when an editor does look at suggestions there.

Jim,

You did not give me chance to reply to your answer so I have created another thread. It is rude to not allow people to respond especially when you did not answer the question to my satisfaction.

I would like to complain to someone that has the power to look into it properly. Not a 'Report Abuse' link that will be met with some standard response!

I would like an email address of a person that deals with proper complaints as the person that is looking after (Computers: Software: Configuration Management: Bug Tracking: Free) is clearly not in the right frame of mind for the job.

Why cannot someone here just flippin look into it for me. Surely it would not take long. Please don't refer me to guides and documents, they are just fob offs and all they do is just pass the buck. Take some ownership of a problem and deal with it. You will feel a much better person for it, trust me.

My response was entirely factual (with a little added conjecture) and didn't need a reply.

Either you're going to take the responses you've already had at face value or you're going to make an abuse report. Please do one or the other, I don't much mind which.

Do not start another thread here on this topic.
