My site (neorunner.com) was listed at the following location until recently.
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Inter...pen_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/N/

I haven't really changed much lately, so I am really curious why my site was removed. Is it perhaps being considered for another location? I submitted 2 others, and shortly after neorunner.com was removed.

The two others are:
bearded-clam.net
gayhindu.com

I do use ODP data on neorunner.com and bearded-clam.net, so I guessed my site would be listed in the "Sites that use ODP data" section.

Please let me know what happened.

Kind Regards,

Frank

P.S. If you need proof that my site was listed, you can see it in two places.

http://dir.nodeworks.com/Computers/...pen_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/N/
and
http://www.neorunner.com/Directory/...pen_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/N/

The second one is my site, and the data was pulled directly from dmoz.org.

Unacepptable links on your pages. Also the number of affiliate links is excessive.

What links are unacceptable? I removed all adult links over a month ago. Plus, I wasn't aware that adult links were against the rules. I don't have any affiliate links, never have. I only have advertiser links, meaning the advertisers pay me a monthly fee to have their links. These are not "affiliate links".

Finally, why was I not emailed to tell me why my link was being removed?

Does anyone have some answers? It seems like the only answer I can get are vague references. Someone please tell me what is happening with my site in dmoz.

The submittal policy, which you must have passed by multiple times on the way to submitting multiple related sites, explicitly tells what happens to people who submit multiple related sites.

What else is there to tell?

We don't do e-mails.

We don't e-mail people when we list sites, and would never even consider e-mailing people when we remove sites.

And, before this thread goes any further, I encourage you to read this FAQ item and then proceed very, very carefully.

My two sites do not have similar content.

www.neorunner.com has general content, and it has its own directory that is not ODP data.

www.gayhindu.com has content related to gay hindus.

How are these related?

Furthermore, I submitted neorunner.com a year ago. I cannot be expected to remember everything I went through to submit.

I started having these problems after submitting the gayhindu.com link for review. I shutter to think this has something to do with bigotry against gays or hindus.

I request that neorunner.com be reinstated in the ODP directory. If not, please reply with the address and name of the person whom I take my complaint to.

Oh, I see.

I submitted neorunner.com, and a year later submitted bearded-clam.net which has similar but not identical content. I see.

Is it not possible to redeem my horrifying mistake? I mean, really. I should be killed for wasting your time with similar content. Where do I go to be put on trial?

The only content that is duplicate is the dmoz information. Everything else on neorunner.com is of my own design.

Yet again. I request that neorunner.com be reinstated. If need be, you can delete bearded-clam.net. Its a site I had bought to build a sex education site. I was advised by my attorney that it would open me up to litigation. So, I had this domain and hosting, but didn't know what to do with it. I put up the dmoz directory. I honestly thought it would make you happy to see it being used. Instead, I am treated very badly.

Who do I take my complait to? Do I have to go directly to Netscape Communications Corporation? If so, what is a point of contact?

Be advised, if I receive another scathing reply, I will simply refer this to my attorney for litigation.

Thats alright. Everyone look at the bbb report on this company. I want everyone to know what kind of badgering they give to the public. It sounds like a very bad company.

http://www.bbbsilicon.org/commonreport.html?compid=202410

Dmoz is owned by Netscape. Do you see the part that says:

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau. Specifically, our records show a pattern of non-response to consumer complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau.

You reap what you sew. I wash my hands of it. I am however submitting a complaint to the bbb on dmoz.org, in the name of dmoz.

Since you want to take legal actions or similiar steps, no further discussion at this place is possible. Please direct all further enquiries to the Netscape/AOL legal department, thank you.
