Hello,

My name is David Weller

Can someone please tell me the submission status of my site?

It has been so long since the submission, I am not entirely sure of the category, but this seems right:

http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Operating_Systems/Microsoft_Windows/FAQs,_Help,_and_Tutorials/

site:
URL Removed

note:

URL Removed used to belong to a different category, but I have long (years) since changed that entry's URL:
URL Removed comes up when searching for URL Removed in the ODP.
There is no more relation between the two sites.

Thank you!

David

You originally posted in a forum about becoming an editor but you seem to be asking about the status of your website here so I've moved the thread. We don't provide status reports.

My sincere apologies. I saw a post similar to my question, and did not bother to note the section I was in.

Thanks for moving it.

Two years is definitely abusive - even if the service is FREE. It needs more consideration of its Users and better management. Time is more than of the essence. It is most vital/crucial. I just attempted to submit a site, and I got no confirmation to say if my submission went through or not. I would want to be waiting for 2 years to find out... Do you imagine what could happen by then? I also put i n an application to be an editor. I got the same non-response.

In the list of the great abuses of human history, this one is going to rank fairly low, don't you think? Since no service was ever offered, and no money was ever taken?

It needs more consideration of its Users and better management.

As you haven't reported any way in which the directory has failed its users, your assertion lacks plausibility. (Without evidence, you're only guessing.)

Time is more than of the essence. It is most vital/crucial.

Indeed, for everyone.

For editor applications there is an email confirmation; if nothing arrived try checking your spam filters...

Hi again,

I do not blame anyone for this delay. I believe it is partly caused by some sort of glitch in the system.

As I said, the URL that I am now trying to get listed, WAS listed before, but THAT site has since changed both in topic and URL.

The Directory now has that site and URL categorized correctly, but seems to count that the old URL (the one I am now trying to get listed) is still associated with it.

I know this, because if i search the directory for the URL, those other listings come up, even though they no longer use that URL.

I could be wrong, but I wonder if this is part of the problem?

It's most likely simply awaiting review, but bear in mind that we do tend to treat two different looking sites on the same subject by the same people as one.
(that's a general comment - not sure if this is the case for you as we don't offer site specific advice)
