Hey all,

I am just wondering what the status of http://www.starski.com is.

I submitted this to:

http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/Skiing/ some time ago and havent been listed. Have I been rejected?

There's a new submission sitting there. The earlier submission was found to NOT be a shopping site, but I don't know if you've changed things since then. If it's not shopping, you should submit to the appropriate UK locality (assuming your shop is one which has a physical location).

I viewed your site, does it ship outside of the UK? It does not appear, by reading the Information section that you do. If you ship to the UK and another country, you would qualify for a Shopping listing. If you ship only to the UK and related territories, I would suggest submitting to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Recreation_and_Sports/. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hi,

Sorry I havent replied, but have ben having problems posting on this board from my home ISP.

Anyway I took the advice above and resubmitted to:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Recreation_and_Sports/

Havent seen anything yet. Any status?

It is still in the works in regional. That submission was just made on February 18, so please be patient <img src="/images/icons/tongue.gif" alt="" /> . There are a minimal number of sites waiting in that category. If you see no progress, you can check back here in a month.

Your submission was recently moved to the more specific category of Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Recreation and Sports: Sports: Mountain Sports. Let's wait another month and see if it is going to be listed. If not, feel free to come back to this thread and ask again.

Another month has passed, and now I notice that the number of sites in the cat has been changed to 9 from 10, suggesting it has been purged, and someones been in there. Not sure if any submissions were reviewed.

Sorry, no change...likely a site was removed for being dead. We have some programs that allow us to access "dead" sites from one spot (sites located in different areas of the directory)...so while it shows that someone edited in that category they may not have actually gone into that specific category and done the edit. I mention this, so it doesn't appear your site was ignored. It is still waiting with less than a handful of other sites. Sorry I don't have better news. <img src="/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hint. Take a look at the other sites in the category where your site is waiting. They all have something that your site doesn't (at the above time and date). Without that bit of information there is a fair chance Regional editors will overlook your site.
