This may seem petty to you but when the guidelines say Wait at least a month it really means that. Once we start slipping to answering after 29 days, then it gets out of control. Then we get grouchy. :(

Help in general? Yes, you could look into applying to become an editor yourself.

Help specific to your submisson? No, the only thing you can do to help is to be patient, I'm afraid. neither category is of a size which would accept a novice editor.

Your Texas submission was moved by an editor to category http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Texas/Localities/L/Lometa where it now awaits review.

The submission in the Shopping category was declined - the reviewing editor felt that there weren't really enough items being auctioned to warrant its inclusion as an active auction site (most categories were empty).
