My site's homepage is listed in the ODP is two places. My company offers additional services and I attempted to list them in their respective categories.

On May 19, 2003 I submitted the following URLs to the following sections and non have been added. Does this require a longer waiting period or have I been denied?

(1) http://www.rustybrick.com/services_email_marketing.php to dmoz category: computers> internet> email> marketing

(2) http://www.rustybrick.com/services_search_engine.php to dmoz category: computers> internet> web design and development > promotions > search engine optimization firms > r

(3) http://www.rustybrick.com/services_web_seminars.php to dmoz category: business > business services > public speaking > corporate

(4) http://www.rustybrick.com/logo_info.php to dmoz category: business > marketing and advertising > advertising > design services > logo and stantionary

Please let me know the status of these, if I did anything wrong, etc.

I appreciate your help - you run a great directory!

Root URL of http://www.rustybrick.com/ is already listed twice. Once in Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/R/ and once in Regional/North_America/United_States/New_York/Localities/S/Suffern/Business_and_Economy/ .

It is totally up to editor's discretion whether any deeplinks for any site will be listed. Two (1&3) have been denied and two (2&4) have so far been untouched by editing fingers.

Feel free to ask again in a month or so.

Suffern! Is/was a nice town. Lived in Mahwah for a while when I was a kid. <img src="/images/icons/laugh.gif" alt="" />

raggedyrugs,

What made you move out to Nebraska? When was the last time you were in town? For two weeks we had rain and finally past two days have been humid (I am sure you remember summers here) and sunny and hot.

Anyway, Is there anyway for me to 'disput' a listing rejection? I know I have two listing to the root and I am incredibly grateful. However, #3 has become a major part of RustyBrick's service offerings - we have given seminars in regard to Internet related topics (including a subsection on the Open Directory Project).

So I would not complain at all about the email marketing but the #3 and for sure the Logo Design (#4) and Search Engine Optimization (#2) are primary sub-businesses of RustyBrick.

I can make several sites but that would not be fair. I actually have a discussion about that in the search engine seminar that talks about the ethics of creating small sites for Search Engine/Directory purposes only.

So do you have any suggestions?

I do appreciate your help and treasure your advice.

I'm afraid not. From the sticky at the top of this forum:

"If your site has been rejected, please keep in mind that arguing about the editorial decision will not be tolerated. Please note that at the bottom of the "add URL" screen it says "Netscape and the ODP have unfettered editorial discretion to determine the structure and content of the directory" and "a site's placement in the directory is subject to change or deletion at any time""

If you change and improve the content you are welcome to re-submit.

&lt;I can make several sites but that would not be fair&gt;

Nor would it make any real difference as to whether it is listed.

Thanks for the enquiry.

Its been about a month since I last asked about the status of the above submissions. Can someone please let me know about the other two submissions?

Thank you.

Since you were already told that #1 and #3 were rejected, I checked on the others. Both #2 and #4 were also rejected.

Listing of deeplinks for a business is a relatively rare occurrence. The vast majority of companies only have their main URL listed, in the category that best fits their business taken as a whole, as evaluated by the contents of their website.
