I surveyed the category and found 0% evidence it has been received. You may suggest the site again. Wait a month then return to this thread and check we have received it this time. Thanks.

A clickable link to the site helps too according to 98.7% of editors ;)

Would anyone be so kind as to let me know if the submission from a month ago was received and/or processed? Thanks!

Thanks for the update. Is there any type of an "appeals" process? The site is more legitimate and of higher quality and usefullness than half the sites listed in the category we submitted to...

No, there's really no appeals process.

If you can lay aside all your ideas about "usefulness", "quality", and "legitimacy" to focus on "unique content", you can get a better impression of how the editor looked at the site, what we look for, and what we couldn't find.

Who knows? Maybe you HAD something unique, but it was just hidden out of site -- or maybe you hadn't even bothered to publish it yet. In that case, an adjustment of the site contents and navigation might yield a different result. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and ours.

Note carefully -- the editor is going to be looking ON THE SITE to judge its quality, usefulness, legitimacy, etc. (insofar as we judge those things at all, which is hardly ever and hardly at all.) We won't be looking for site reviews in forums. After all, the surfer won't be reading the forum first! And we recommend a site based on what the surfer can see on the site.

Thanks for your reply. So basically what you're saying is that DMOZ attempts to list mostly/only sites with unique content? Meaning, if DMOZ already lists my competitor and we both offer exactly the same thing, I won't get listed in DMOZ even if my site is 10x "better"? Just trying to understand this ...

Yes, we only list unique content.
But unique can be anything. It could be unique information. Or the description of a unique service the company is delivering.
But if you only sell things belonging to someone else or if you only describe what someone else is doing changes are much smaller (and most of the times none at all) to be listed.

Thanks again for the replies. Our site is not an "affiliate" site, and we do have a unique offering - since it is our own product/service and offered by no one else. We also offer unique content at our site that no one else offers, because it was written by us and not available on any other site. Oh well ...
