When you say there is no information available on this submittal, do you mean there is no Add URL request in your system, or has the editor not acted upon it yet? I first submitted 5 months ago. Should I re-submit?

No, don't resubmit. Come back in a month and we will be able to give you a status check.

If I check back next Tuesday, 1-month later, will there be an answer or do I need to do something then, like ask for another status? Thanks for helping get to the bottom of this.

Hello...
It has been one month since you asked me to check back. Will my site get catalogued today?
Thanks :)

I think I can give you a definite "no" on that. But there's always a chance. The deadlines in this forum are MINIMUM times for SUBMITTERS to ASK about submittals. They have nothing, nothing whatsoever, nothing at all, to do with when editors might actually review a site. THAT we don't know and can't know.

Sorry for the confusion  but I thought this site was supposed to be just that -- a place to check the status of the submission...

How does one go about finding out:
(1) did someone receive my submissions?
(2) have they acted upon the submission?
(3) if so, and I was rejected, can I know why so I can address the problem.
(4) if not, when might someone act on the submission?

Just trying to wrap-up on oustanding tasks...that's all :)

hutcheson: I don't think you're quite being fair. Could you please consider that a request for a status report?

As for drdot's last questions, you find out (1) and (2) by asking here. I see you may have resubmitted again. You may ask for status one month after the last submission. Please ask again, if you don't get status from someone. The answer to (3) is no -- we don't tell you why a site was rejected. The answer to (4) is we have no idea when someone might review the site. You may ask for another status check in September - if you don't find your site listed by then.

September? Are you serious?

So it takes at least a year to get into DMOZ, if at all?

Wow...I don't know what to say :D

We didn't say that. Your site might be reviewed tomorrow, and you might find your site listed very soon. However we don't know when the site will actually be reviewed and it's not worth answering status requests every fortnight. That's why we ask to wait six months between status requests. But maybe your next one will not be necessary any more - you never know ...
