Whats the status of www.Time4Learning.com in DMOZ?
Also, of www.Todays-Learners.com?

Our online education service was launched in spring 2004. Our initial marketing guy said that he submitted to DMOZ. Since then we have had two other contractors who probably also submitted. I'm (the founder) now doing the marketing hands-on. Have we already oversubmitted? If so, sorry.

In any case, are we in the queue? If not, what can I do?
Heres the positioning of each:

Learn Reading & Math Online with www.Time4Learning.com

www.LearningToday.com - Because the technology, world, and learners have changed

Status of www.Time4Learning.com

Jim, wow, you're fast.

Again, I'm following up on why the submissions thru the fall and summer to DMOZ for www.time4Learning.com have not yet been accepted. The categories where it seems most appropriate, in order, are:

Learn Reading & Math Online - www.Time4Learning.com DMOZ categories:
Reference: Education: Products and Services: Home Schooling
Kids and Teens: School Time: English: Reading
Kids and Teens: School Time: Math: Arithmetic
Reference: Education: K through 12: Technology: Activities and Lessons

The site hasn't been reviewed.

As you don't provide any clickable category links, or indeed any indication that you believe there's a particular category it's been submitted to, you may pick the one best category, in your opinion, and submit.

But read the Kids&Teens charter before even thinking about submitting anywhere there. (Then don't even think about it. It's obviously a commercial site, so only a category for commercial sites is suitable.)

www.Time4Learning.com submission additions

OK. I've tested how to cut & paste the links so they work....
I'm following up on an ongoing effort since June 2004 on getting a DMOZ listing for www.Time4Learning.com - an online reading and math advertising-free educational service for children ages 3-9. Useful for homeschooling & supplementary, Time4Learning.com is a web-based system for building basic reading and math skills including a personalized curriculum for each member and reports for parents. And theres games for kids. Its Time 4 Learning. And Fun.

The best listing directory might be:

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/K_through_12/Technology/Activities_and_Lessons/

Other good possibilities include:

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Products_and_Services/Home_Schooling/
http://dmoz.org/Kids_and_Teens/School_Time/Math/Arithmetic/
http://dmoz.org/Kids_and_Teens/School_Time/English/Reading/Alphabet_Fun/

I'm sorry that I seem to have made a mess of this but being focused on education and serving our membership does not leave enough time to really focus on marketing efforts like trying to submit properly to each directory. The result is that I've gotten it wrong multiple times, wasting my time and yours. Sorry. I'd appreciate any guidance you could give us.

Did you follow that advice?

I read the system FAQs and followed its directions. I have been unable to find this charter although I looked and searched for it. Would you be able to offer a link to it?

Also, when I looked thru the groups that were listed, I saw a mix of commercial models:

1. Advertising supported - Not my favorite approach to providing education to children.
2. Down-load supported - MY least favorite approach. Many of those downloads load computers with programs that hijack it in weird ways. And they claim that its legal since the user "clicked" on a contract. Since the users are mostly under 10 and often preliterate, this is really bogus.
3. Subscription-based with lots of demos - my model
4. Government or university or grant based

Are you saying that this listing is only for categories 1, 2, & 4 so that those with my model on that list are mistakes?

Motsa - Thanks. I see the distinction is not by type of commercial model but whether the site is intended for children, not about children.

My site is tricky under these guidelines. The Members/Users are children. But its the adults who decide to sign them up.

Based on the DMOZ attitude 'Don't even think about putting it there", I guess that I should make this suggestion. Could it get listed this way:

www.Time4Learning.com - an online reading and math advertising-free educational service for children ages 3-9. Useful for homeschooling & supplementary, Time4Learning.com is a web-based system for building basic reading and math skills including a personalized curriculum for each member and reports for parents. And theres games for kids. Its Time 4 Learning. And Fun.

The best listing directory might be:

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education...es_and_Lessons/

Another possiblity includes:

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education...Home_Schooling/

It was submitted around June and then again (I believe) in September & November. I'm not sure how well it was submitted. I believe this time that I've followed protocol. Any insights available on the status?

I believe this time that I've followed protocol although its now been 10 days since theres been any response and it got many layers deep. Sorry for previous history: since I am only listing once and this is one of a gazillion balls that I'm juggling, I guess I was not thorough in digging.
