Status of Website 'Tills innovations'

Dear ODP Editor,

I submitted my website a few weeks ago and would appreciate if you could let me know the status. When I went through the application I did not notice a conformation page so I'm not even confident that it has reached you, but I also dont want to send duplicate entries!?

After trawling through my records I have found a list of various categories that I was considering entering and have not indicated which one I went for....oops, and have also looked over your site to see how I can find out which category I entered without any luck...sorry...so I have re-sent it to the following:-

On your posting guidelines it says about listing the 'categories' and gives an example of two, but from other parts on the site in says you should only add to one category and the editor will put them into the others as he/she feels fit?

You should submit to the one most specific category related to your site. The Posting Guidelines on the link that I gave you show the one case where two listings might be warranted. If the site offers something to the topical category (Example site fits in Home:Gardens: Designed Gardens and it can also get a listing for its locality at the Regional level (Example:Regional:North America:United States:California:Los Angeles:Business and Economy:Home and Garden . So in the example given in the guidelines it shows both the Business category it would belong and the Regional.

Regional locations are for where the site is located (i.e the contact address shown on the site where the company can be reached-not area to which it offers service) so I think Regional might be the best bet. However at a quick glance I think the better Regional location might be in the Suffolk:Bury St. Edmunds:Business and Economy since that is where your "Contact Us" shows your site. That is just my opinion, do not worry about submitting again, the editors there will determine the best location and move it. Also if they think it warrants a second listing in a topical category they will forward it there for review to.

I think you have done what you need to do for now. If you are interested check back to this thread no earlier than 1 month from your last submission and request the status check. Remember to provide the clickable link to that category you submitted to.

I entered our company name 'tills innovations' into google and various compnaies we have linked to came up but also a link to this forum, i.e.

Is this normal as I am concerned that it goes directly into my account and others could post via my account?

So I guess the answer is yes it is normal for them to be found during a search. I am not sure I understand the second part? Someone following the link that appears would be directed to this thread and be able to view it. It is public anyway so that is not in itself an issue. Someone following the link would be able to post here, but not as you (if that is what you are asking) they would have to create a user id and log in and any subsequent posts they made would show up under their id nick.

Unfortunately, I do not edit in that category so I cannot provide you with the status update that you requested. I can however make your category link clickable so an editor who does have permissions to edit there can give you a status update

At the moment I am checking here and going directly to the Dmoz website and typing in the comapny name, i.e. Tills Innovations, is the best thing to do?

Sorry, given the volume of threads we get here, sometimes queries can get missed, especially if another editor posts an informational response without actually giving the status (the fact that an editor is actively posting in a thread can lead other editors just skip past the thread thinking it is being taken care of).

Just a quick email to see how the update is comming along? As I have mentioned in my previous email, I have been going to the Dmoz website and typing in our company name 'Tills Innovations' to see if we come up with a match. When we are listed will we come up? and if we do, what extra support does this forum provide with update status as we understand you are unable to give a completion date?
