Please read the [thread=396]forum guidelines[/thread] before posting here. We need a clickable link to the dmoz.org category into which the site was submitted.

Note: We only do status checks every 6 months as explained here.

This only means you have to wait longer for status checks, not for the actual reviews. Hopefully reviews will speed up. :)

Since you can check for yourself to see if the site has been listed, the only value in a follow-up check is to make sure we didn't either decline to list the site at all or accidentally delete the submission without reviewing it. We don't need to do that every month.

If your site hasn't been listed by next January, you may come back and ask for a follow-up check.

No one has promised to review it in January. It could be reviewed any time. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe a year from now. It all depends on when our volunteer Science editors get to it.

What happens in January is that if the site isn't listed yet, we'll take a peek for you and make sure the site wasn't rejected, or accidentally deleted from the queue.

Not beeing listed here may be our end.

As important as the ODP has become, it is not the only way to promote your site. You shouldn't be putting all your eggs in one basket.

Apply directly to some search engines. You can apply directly to Google you know at http://www.google.com/addurl.html - it won't get you in the directory, but it should get you in the search engine.

Other search engines, directories, and services are available too. Do some research and I'm sure you'll find the links.

You need quick website promotion: understood. But explain to your boss: there are many sites that offer that service. And there are many sites that don't offer that service. The ODP doesn't.

There are forums that talk about ways of promoting websites -- but this is not one of those forums. Check out, for instance, webmasterworld.com . The professionals will tell you: a site promotion plan that depends on the ODP is a guaranteed failure. But they'll also have some constructive ideas about what does work.

And if the company does turn out to be a success, then the ODP will want to link to it!

I'm not sure why you don't understand yet, you have been asked to read the guidelines and the forum FAQ and the rules about posting here, but you are still ignoring them.

Post #6 above says If your site hasn't been listed by next January, you may come back and ask for a follow-up check.
