Hi,

I recently emailed an ODP editor to ask why my site, All In London, was removed from it's category. He replied giving the reason the editor used but I don't feel it's a satisfactory reason for deleting my site. If somebody could let me know if they feel the editors' comments constitute a valid reason for dropping my site it would be appreciated.

My site:
http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/

The ODP category it was dropped from:
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/London/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Guides/

The reason given was that the site is an activehotels affiliate.

The site does have links to active hotels for online reservations however that represents about 5% of the content on the site. There are other sites in the same category that have links to affiliate programs and indeed hotel affiliate programs.

The site is the result of 12 months of hard work and I feel that to be deleted from the ODP for something that many other sites do isn't really fair.

Any opinions or tips would be appreciated.

Gavin

This forum is for status enquiries, not for discussion of a site's merits or otherwise.

ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING says
If your site has been rejected, please keep in mind that arguing about the editorial decision will not be tolerated. Please note that at the bottom of the "add URL" screen it says "Netscape and the ODP have unfettered editorial discretion to determine the structure and content of the directory" and "a site's placement in the directory is subject to change or deletion at any time"
The bar for a directory's inclusion in ODP is set very high these days. I've just looked at yours and I'm afraid it's not the sort of site we want to include. I suggest you seek alternative means of promotion.
