Oh my gosh... Over 300 others in the same 'C' Category? Or in the WebDesign Full cat in general?

C only. Everyone is doing webdesign nowadays, and of course everyone thinks he is doing full service. :)

Ayuh... All us "downsized" ex-Java Junkies... :(

Hmmm... Is this the place to ask about processing procedure? Or is that a forbidden topic? (If so, I understand...) i.e., Is the queue processed FIFO (First In, First Out), in the sequence they were submitted? Or in a random sequence by the editors' choice?

Thanks for the feedback! Its apreciated! See ya in about a month to see how deep the heap is then...

Editors are not required to edit based on FIFO or any other criteria. Sorry the news is not better. :(

Thanx Sixstringz. That is what I was guessing, though I was hoping otherwise.

I reckon I might as well not count on getting listed... :bump:

The news is not good, but don't be discouraged. Someone will eventually get to it and if the site fits the criteria it will be listed. Bookmark this thread, forget about it for a few months and apply your energy to other ways to promote your site, then use this thread to check again later.

Best,

Thanx agaon, SixStringz, for the encouraging words...

Actually, I'm already at work at other means of site promotion. The listing here is seen as a plus, really, as the ODP is used as a source for so many other listings...

See y'all in a couple/few months!

G'Morning!

I happened to see a DMOZ Referrer in Celeriter's logs the other day... Any chance of getting an update on my submission? Has the editor logged anything in regards to the domain/url?

How's the 300 Deep Heap? ;)

Thanx!

No, sorry - nothing happened yet.
There are many reasons for a DMOZ referrer in your log, some of them pretty much unrelated to the actual reviewing process.

Thanx Windharp. Well, I was hopeful... :::Sigh:::

Anyway, the referral was from: "http://editors.dmoz.org:8080/editors/editcat-unrev.cgi?cat=Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/C/"

Sure *looked* like it was an editor look'n around... Maybe he/she will return...

Anyway, how's the traffic jam in that category these days? Any better? Or should I put this thread back in hibernation for another quarter or two?

I don't think the backlog situation has changed in that category although I do see a listed editor. Hopefully that is good news...

Thanx Helper!

Though, :( The fact that there is an editor means little, as there has always been one... And its the same one that's permitted the backlog to develop evidently.

Some guidance perhaps? When a category such as mine accumulates the number of entries that it has (a lot, admittedly), does DMOZ in general stop (or lessen) adding additional entries? And if so, any suggestions as to what other category I might consider submmitting my domain/url to?

That was uncharitable, at the very least. You do not know the editing history in that category, you do not know the editing history of the editor and thus you are really not in a position to throw stones at the volunteer editor who contributes his or her time to help make the OPD directory a useful tool for millions of surfers and untold directories.
