I had been waiting to inquire about the status of my site, but just as the one month time limit was close to being reached I became aware that the time between inquiries has been increased to six months.

If it is not too much trouble I would highly appreciate a final status update.

Also reading in the forums, I assume that a site may also be submitted to the regional directory. Thus I had submitted to the following category

category: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/India/Business_and_Economy/

If possible could you also comment on how long are the queues for both the categories.

Even operating under the previous one month rule, you are still several days too early to request an update status. In addition, we do not comment on how many other sites are pending review in that area--as it is irrelevant. A site waiting with 100 other sites may be reviewed long before a site waiting with just one other site--it depends on editor interest and volunteer time spent, along with other factors. Sorry I cannot be more specific.
