I submitted my site to the above category when it started late february but there was a problem with the submission, after filling in the details and clicking submit it redirected to a blank page, so it could have gone through I just didnt receive any confirmation via browser or email. I waited at least a month and then resubmitted

This is a small section with only 11 sites, it would be most appreciated if someone could double check my application is there ( http://www.chihuahua-people.com ) and roughly how long it will take to appear on the index

Many thanks

It will take a while till your page will be reviewed.
You said you resubmitted over a month later: That means at the end of March or early April then!

There is generelly no need to resubmit a site. Either the site is still waiting to be reviewed or the editor denied to list it. Unless the content changed dramatically there is no need at all to resubmit a site.
Please wait at least two months till you resubmit a site. Submitting a site more than once is considered spamming and the page will be blacklisted.

And please do not ask for submission status before a month has passed after the submission (-->that makes it late April or early May).

Not every category has its own editor and not every editor can be active all the time. So please be patient!

You may request status 6 months from your last status report. That would be January 2.

<edited>OOPS -- December 2. Sorry about that </edited>

There is nothing you can do to "get listed." The ODP doesn't offer that functionality, or that service.

There is something you can do to help the next editor interested in that subject find good sites. You did that. (The next editor working in that area will appreciate it.)

But you ask: who is that editor? and when?

Ah, the imponderables of life. We don't know. We can't know.

Your site was declined. I don't edit in that area, so I don't know if the reason given is accurate. If you have as much content as the best site in the category, I would resubmit.

This is my personal opinion, and may not reflect that of the editors in that category. Since I have no edits in Recreation/Pets, I thought I would add that note.
