You're a few days short of a month. I'm sorry, but I'll have to ask you to come back and bump this thread on or after November 8, 2004.

agreed

Not to be obnoxious, but I assumed my submission had been received and was awaiting review. Is their no other information about this submission available? When should I check for a status update again?

I would encourage you to read the Posting Guidelines, but to answer your question you need to wait at least 6 months between status requests. You will next be eligible for a status check after 5/9/2005.

There is no further information because the site has not been reviewed hence
The submission has been received and is awaiting review.
status supplied by djdeeds.

You might also want to pop over to the Help Center and read the Submitting your site section. It may shed some light on any more questions you might have.

Thanks.

People ask this a lot. But ... think about it. What other information could possibly be available? There isn't anything else. There are only three states a site can be in. Not reviewed. Listed. Rejected. There's only one way a site can change states (editorial act), and those acts are not centrally imposed, controlled, monitored, prioritized, or predicted.

I see

So really, a status update would only serve to notify a submitter that his/her site has been rejected or accepted. If a submitter is notified by e-mail anyway, that would seem to mean status updates useless. Well, thanks for the info. I'll try again in six months! See you in May!

Submitters are not notified by email when a site is listed or rejected.

The purpose of a status request is to find out if the site was indeed submiitted properly and is still waiting, or if it was rejected.

True...but that's a big IF. Submitters aren't notified by e-mail.
