I currently have my company URL listed in category:-

http://dmoz.org/Science/Instruments_and_Supplies/Material_Science/

however the URL has changed from http://www.diacell.co.uk to http://www.diacellproducts.com and so has the site description, and obviously all site content has changed as well.

I updated the URL using the form provided before 3 February 2004, but the site description and the site URL have not changed, so I have since made 2 more attempts, now I am worried that I may have made too many attempts...

Can you let me know if I have done/am doing anything wrong to get this site change/update denied?

many thanks

An update request dated 18/Feb/2004 is awaiting editorial review in that category.

So it doesn't apepar that you are doing anything wrong at all. :)

Thanks.

Great! (very relieved)

Is 4-6 weeks still the average time for an update, or would it vary from category to category?

Thanks.

Update, like site reviews, can take from hours to years, depending upon a number of factors. Many editors, however, do try and catch updates when they see them in a given pool of submissions, so they are often, but now always, processed before new submissions.

Hi,

I was wondering if this update request was still awaiting review, or if it had been rejected, I dont mean to pester the reviewers, but it has been 8 weeks since the update request was posted, so I figured it may have been discarded altogether.

Thanks

If your review the forum guidelines, you will find we ask you wait minimum of a month between status requests.

Hi,

I was wondering if this update request was still awaiting review, or if it had been rejected, it has been 13 weeks since the original update request (18/Feb/2004 ) was posted, so I figured it may have been discarded altogether.

would it be possible for anyone to do a quick check?

- The last time I (successfully) made an update status request was on 03-23-2004, and it is now more than two months since I posted that status request, so this is status request (2).

Thanks

slightly puzzled

Thanks for all the hard work previously, however I am puzzled by the way the site I have submitted (www.diacellproducts.com) seems to be performing in searches, last month I had around 45 sites linking to this site on google however today I have only 5... I am just trying to see if anything has changed your end (site could have been barred or something perhaps?) or anything that I may not be aware of - figured you would know more about it than I would, and I need to cover all bases.

many thanks, and apologies in advance if my question causes undue irritation.

How do we check that spidering was OK

How do we check that a site was successfully spidered (or not)?

On the subject of site-submission-status though, surely it would make your lives easier if the status checking was just an automated php form or something that queried a database interactively, as it appears that everyone just asks the same questions repeatedly except about their own sites -- it should be really easy to just setup an interactive fully (or partially) automated service.

just a thought...

Status is that the update has been made.

We don't do spidering.

And re: the automated status thingy, it's been thought of, discussed and thrown out as detrimental many times.
