I'm not certain that your site is listsable in the topical part of the directory, but since I don't edit in that part I'm not comfortable giving a difinitive answer.

However, I am reasonably comfortable that you are listable in the Regional part of the directory. You should immediately submit to http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/New_York/Localities/B/Brooktondale/ since that is where you are are apparently physically located. (Location is what counts in Regional/ not where one markets or where one's customers reside). This second submission is permitted and will not interfere with consideration of the topical submission you made.

Thank you for the fast response.

When a catagory does not have an editor assigned, how do submissions get reviewed for inclusion?

Also, do you have any idea why my site disappeared from the ODP after it was accepted and listed?

No category anywhere has an editor "assigned". And yet ... sites have evidently gotten added, right?

Volunteers have editing "privileges" (which they may use often or regularly or seldom) in specific categories; those privileges implicitly include all subcategories. Dozens of editors (editalls) have implicit privileges in ALL categories.

But there are no "assignments" of any form. Never have been. It's all what volunteers choose to do. And yet over five million sites have been added (and not a few of those taken out again.)

Most edits are done by editors with some form of "implicit privileges" -- which should be obvious if you look at things from the other side: it is the very active editors whose privileges are mostly implicit.

As for why the site was listed for awhile, that was a mistake--we don't list MLM distributor sites. I don't know why it happened; but mistakes do happen. We correct them when we find them.

Well then why did it used to say "This Category edited by: xxxx" where xxxx was an alias leading to an e-mail address.

To be fair, you should then remove all distributor sites. There is still one listed in the detailing products category.

I really feel that you are discriminating against certain sites. I don't understand why my site would be any different that any other distributor's product site.

Apparently at one time an editor had privileges specifically in that category. (It doesn't mean that nobody else could edit there.)

If there are other MLMers for either that product or other products listed, please point them out and we'll make all fair again.

Based on community experience, the community reached a consensus to stop listing them.
