why is my site singled out.
While that whine may sound nice to you, the fact of the matter is that you have no way of knowing how many other sites we have declined to publish for lack of unique content.
It is not impossible for a travel site to develop unique content -- but it does require some original work.
Think about this:
If you use material (photos, descriptions, write-ups) that are provided by the cruise line, there is little or no possibility that the material is unique. Ther PR department produces it in droves. If your site include material that is taken from the lovely, high-gloss, four-color brochures that the cruise line produces, there is little or no possibility that the content is unique.
If, however, your site were to begin to describe the crusie experience with your very own words, illustrated by photographs taken by your staff, the owners or the agency, or from customers who have been on the very cruises that you sell, then that is a first step towards unique content. A couple of first-person narratives go a long way in boosting unique content.
We understand that everyone selling space on NCL lines is pretty well limited by the ships in the line and their sailing dates. We strongly believe that our customers -- the people who search our directory -- are best served by not finding 18 nearly identical cookie cutter sites.
So go add that unique content. People who have been on cruises love to tell everyone within earshot about the good, the bad and the ugly about their cruise. Get them in the office and capture some of their magic and get that onto your website.
If the site is full of cut and paste, it is not unique. If the site is not unique, we aren't going to cut and paste it into the directory.
