We ask that you wait at least a month after submitting before requesting an initial status request. As the date on the submission is 28-July, you're a little early.

From this, of course, you can infer that the site is awaiting review in that category.

If it is not listed in the meantime, you are welcome to reply to this thread sometime after 28-Jan-2005 for another status update.

Hi, could I have another status update on the submitted site? Been working hard on it, there's a walkthrough and a lot of other content up.

Thanks for the reply.

I had a look through the guidelines and the only criteria that might be seen as conflicting is:
Do not submit URLs that contain only the same or similar content as other sites you may have listed in the directory. Sites with overlapping and repetitive content are not helpful to users of the directory. Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites.

However I'd like to point out that the sites are not overlapping on content at all. Each is a seperate site with seperate content and concentrating on a seperate video game. The network is bound together in the sense that all the sites belong to the same people but that's about it.

Is this the rule you meant I was breaching or was it something else?

By the way how long is the queue of waiting sites in that category? I see the GTA categories are updated on a regular basis but it seems my sites have been waiting in line for quite a while now. Is there something categorically wrong with them that they are not reaching the list?

Thanks,
DigitalD

Yes, that's what was meant.

So far as the ODP is concerned, it's one site about several games, and the individual game indexes would be considered deeplinks, whether or not they appear on the same domain. That being so, listing them is at editors' discretion "for exceptional cases", and webmasters are enjoined not to submit them individually.

Alright thanks for clearing it up hutcheson but isn't that why you have seperate categories in your GTA category for the different games in the series?

Some webmasters may produce a single site exclusive to one game in the series. It is possible though extremely unlikely that an editor might choose to list individual sites if they are stunningly and head and shoulders the most definitive and comprehensive sites. But the clue is that webmasters may only suggest one of a set of related sites to one category (a few well-defined exclusions do not apply in this case) - that is what the guidelines say. Granting additional listings is always the exclusive decision of an editor when they review the one and only URL permitted to be suggested.

As you say, you can check back on gtanet.com no earlier than 6 months from the status report date.
