As jimnoble already wrote "We won't discuss the reasons here" (and not anywhere else).

On http://dmoz.org/add.html you can read
Please recognize that making the ODP a useful resource requires us to exercise broad editorial discretion in determining the content and structure of the directory. That discretion extends (but is not limited) to what sites to include, where in the directory sites are placed, whether and when to include more than one link to a site, when deep linking is appropriate, and the content of the title and description of the site. In addition, a site's placement in the directory is subject to change or deletion at any time at our sole discretion. You should not rely on any aspect of a site's inclusion in the directory. Please understand that an editor's exercise of discretion may not always treat all submissions equally. You may not always agree with our choices, but we hope you recognize that we do our best to make fair and reasonable decisions.

So, there is no "approach to contest this decision"

DMOZ is the KKK of search directories

Your cynical response and damning quote makes me believe that human edited directories are illegally discriminatory, arbitrary and capricious. Your BS "human editing" efforts will ruin Google with your discriminatory "human edited" crap. My site is in the top ten listings in every other search engine/directory except Google. Their algorithim picked up the DMOZ delisting status for www.GuestDiscounts.com when they mistakingly bought the site. Are you aware that you participate in the KKK of search engines  and are part of such a injurious and misguided group?

We're sorry to have punctured your idealism. But there are other sites on the web that aren't directories, and other search engines besides Google: we sometimes surf them ourselves, and we will not be offended if you access them for all your surfing needs.

A point of fact - when you suggest a URL to the ODP, item 1 on that page provides a link to the "damning quote" that you mention, with the text:
"Please take a moment to review some of our submission policies and instructions. It is important that you understand these policies."

Further down that same form it says:
"We are not a search engine and pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted."

and lastly, at the bottom fo the form, it says:
In exchange for ODP's consideration of the site I am submitting, I agree

* To waive any claim related to the inclusion, placement, exclusion, or removal of this or any other site in the ODP Directory or to the title or description of any site appearing in the ODP Directory;

So, by filling out this form, you implictly agreed to all of this.

Your BS "human editing" efforts will ruin Google with your discriminatory "human edited" crap.
You are definitely entitled to your opinion. Google, thus far, thinks otherwise.

My site is in the top ten listings in every other search engine/directory except Google. Their algorithim picked up the DMOZ delisting status for www.GuestDiscounts.com when they mistakingly bought the site.
Sorry - what site did Google buy? I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say, here.

Are you aware that you participate in the KKK of search engines  and are part of such a injurious and misguided group?
If we believed this I am sure most of us would not edit there.

As I said, you are entitled to your opinion about the ODP, I won't fault you for that. I just wanted to remind you of some of the things you agreed to when you suggested the site for review.

Thanks.
