I had another quick question also.

I've noticed in this category that many of the "Last Updated On 'Date'" seem to all be in 2004, some early in the year. I think one sub-category has a 2005 date.

Is this common or no?

With hundreds of thousands of categories it is impossible to say - some remain static for years, others are updated more or less daily. What you also won't necessarily be aware of are actions behind the scenes - processing unreviewed sites without actually listing any. Some categories are like ducks - serene on the surface, steam engines going full pelt beneath the water.

Do the math. Say 2-3000 edits per day (some adds, some deletes), figure 600,000 categories. Assuming edits are randomly distributed, what's the average?

Now, assuming editors work like they really do: multiple (say, 5) edits in the same day (looks like one "editing day" on the category timestamp) ... what does that do to the average?
