I have tried to submit my site ( www.holmeschapel.net )to http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Cheshire/Holmes_Chapel/ and have been told it is on the unreviewed queue for that category many weeks ago. I have also offered my services to edit this category and as yet heard nothing. I was wondering if there has been an update to my request(s). Many thanks for any help/advice given.

Not being a meta, I don't have access to your file. You can ask about your editor application status in the Becoming an Editor forum - it sounds like some e-mail may have gone astray.
I do know that to become an editor you have to submit some sample urls, titles, and descriptions. If what you submitted on the editor application looks like what you have submitted here, I suggest you reread our guidelines.

Ps still not been reviewed. I volunteered to help, granted this would help me as well but never less I would be willing to help. This comment has left me wondering as to its meaning. I have left a response for another month so as not to clog up the system. What else can I do to get listed?

Be sure to read the http://dmoz.org/guidelines/ and follow them or your application will not be accepted. I seem to remember that the description you gave for your site does not follow our guidelines. This will not stop it from being listed. If we decide it's a good site to list, someone will simply rewrite the description so it follows our guidelines.
