Hi,

Your site is currently waiting in a queue of over 200 submissions to that category and hasn't been looked at yet. The Web Design and Development category receives a very high number of submissions.. please check back in a couple of months.

Ok, well I guess that's confirmation that it's in there, at least!! I will just have to check back in a couple of months to see its progress!

Hi again :)

It's been a few months since I last asked how my submission was going, so I thought I'd check again.

Is it at least getting close to the front of the queue?!!

Ambivalence, thanks for posting that new category. What happens if I do submit my listing to that category - there's only a couple of listings, so I assume it would be listed there more quickly? Wouldn't it then boot my request for the Internet/Web Designers/.....etc etc category off the list?

I'm not sure what to do here, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

1) There's no order to the queue -- more like a large heap. And the editor may list other sites before looking at the heap at all. So that question is meaningless.

2) Our experience is that often a small regional category gets fully cleaned out quickly, but SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. Probably 80-90% of dual-submitted sites get reviewed first in regional, the rest don't.

3) Each category has its own queue. In totally unrelated categories (like Podunk, New Jersey and Toxic Waste Disposal Sites ... no, that may not have been a good example ... anyway, you know what I mean) being listed in one category doesn't affect the review for listing in the other category.

4) There's been no change in status. (There are only three statuses: listed, waiting review, rejected. There is no such status as "about to be reviewed" "guaranteed to be reviewed with xx days" or "not to be reviewed until xxxx other sites have been reviewed first".)

AAaaahah excellent, thanks very much for this info.

I had it in my mind that each listing was reviewed in the order they were added to the category queue, but according to your statement, that's not how it works.

I also thought I'd get penalised if I was trying to add my site into both categories, but again, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Excellent - I shall submit my site for the lutwyche listing given by ambivalence, and see how we go from there!

I think I've been pretty patient with this.

Is my site still in the 'queue' to be added to either of these categories? I would love to know :)

Hopefully, somebody might be able to give an update!

Your site is still waiting for review in both categories. I am sorry not to have better news, but it seems there is a lack of volunteer editors with knowledge and time for these areas of the directory.

Have you considered applying to be an editor - Lutwyche would be a perfect starting point for a new editor and would take up very little time. I wouldn't suggest the web designer one as those are way outside the new editor criteria.

Wow, I can't believe it is still in the queue waiting for review

I don't think becoming an editor for the Lutwyche category would be the best thing to do, as, being perfectly honest (and selfish), I'd probably lose interest after I approved my own listing :)
