Status of www.kandu-marketing.com

Hi. I had an active thread on the old forum. I submitted this site almost a year ago (in August of 2003, man time flies). At this point, I wonder if I should submit to another catagory (my site stradles several). Can you advise me on what I should do? Patience, obviously, but I would also really like to get my site reviewed.

I don't know what else to tell you. I thought of telling you to apply for a Regional listing, but looking at your site I couldn't tell where your offices were located. Perhaps I didn't look hard enough...

Kandu is a national agency (US & Canada). We are based out of Florida but, do work everywhere. I don't mind being patient (especially since the DMOZ is a free directory) but, after waiting nearly a year, I really don't know how much closer the site is to being reviewed than it was last August. From my understanding, you are not supposed to submit to more than one catagory.

I don't want to violate any rules and put the site in danger but, I am eager to get reviewed. It is not just a standard company site; we offer free resources and make an effort to contribute to the web community in our field.

Really, there isn't anything you can do. And that's because (from an editor's point of view) there's nothing you can do to help, and anything you attempt will hinder the editor's actual productive work.

Reconsider making a Regional/ submission. Regional is all about where a company is located, not about where it does business or where its customers reside. In Regional, we care about where the newspaper is delivered each morning.

Find the locality where you have your brick and mortar presence, drill down as deeply as possible from that point, submit and wait. Your submission may or may not be accepted, but it has no impact (favorable or otherwise) on your other submission, and a single submission to Regional, even if not accepted, leaves no black marks next to your name. We don't even send "Vito" out to adjust your kneecaps.

With all respect to spectregunner, I wouldn't suggest you apply to Regional. It's true that many sites do qualify for both a Regional and Topical category, but not all do.

To list in Regional we need a regional focus somewhere. I looked for it on your site, and did not find it. You didn't tell me that it was there and that I missed it, but that you aren't tied to a locality, so I don't see listing your site in Regional.

Adding a submission that we won't accept wastes everyones time.

So don't submit to Regional unless you want to advertise that brick and mortar office. If you want to hire a lot of employees there, or have people walk in and visit you, then yes, do submit in Regional. Otherwise, you probably should not.

We do have an office and manage our regional and national promotions out of this sole location so, I will check into the regional criteria and see if we meet it.

This experience has been like a Greek tragedy. Each 6 months brings another 6 months.

I'm looking in it for the moral of the story, hopefully it will be one of patience rewarded. It's not costing me anything but time so, guess I can't gripe.
