And while you are doing that, stop submitting.

Since you most recently submitted on 3/23 you are not eligible for a status check until your site clears escrow, which takes 30 days from the most recent submission.

Original post edited to include clickable link.

Sorry about the multiple submits, I received bad advice to submit multiple times. Also, I was not aware of this forum.

Was not aware of 30-day escrow wait. I will repost to this forum if necessary once 30-day wait is up.

thank you -- Russ Hart

OK, see you after 4/23, but in the meantime, maybe you can help me understand something.

When I look at your website (and I am not picking on you, tons of RE agents do the exact same thing) I am looking for unique content. Unique content is the mantra of the ODP, and is a requirement for a listing. I ask myself, what does this real estate website have that cannot be found on umpteen other Mesa real estate sites (and there are a ton of Mesa real estate web sites)?

So I go clicking on featured listings, because this is usually one area where an agent has spent some quality time, has an expanded description beyond the MLS stuff, and maybe has better pictures, a video or something else that is unique to the website. So what do I find -- 112 listings, and not a single one belongs to you. That means not a shread of unique content there. So I prowl the website some more, and beyond a very nice picture of you, a bit of biographical information that is mixed with a bunch of marketing chaff, and a new office address, I'll be dipped if I can find anything unique.

So why do real estate agents do this? Why do you (spelled all real estate agents) spend money on websites with content that is duplicated on 99% of all other websites? Is there some list of 19 things a real estate agent needs to be successful, and having a website is #12? Or are there some really good marketing companies out there who are able to convince real estate agents that having a website that essentially copies every other website out there is somehow a good thing? I just don't understand the logic. And please don't take my remarks personal -- the vast majority of real estate websites suffer from a profound lack of unique content. Any thoughts?

The easiest answer is because unique content is hard to do.

In my site, click on "Mesa", "Apache Junction", "Gold Canyon" at the top of the home page. Those pages are completely unique. Did you know Ernesto Miranda's crime took place in Mesa, Arizona? You know, "you have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed for you..." Words I've only heard on "Dragnet", thankfully. Local info, my photos.

Also, click on "Buying a Home?", "Selling a Home?" and "Relocating?" -- those aren't original but they are good collections of resources and articles gathered from many areas into one page. And extremely useful, what buyers and sellers need.

"Featured Homes" is a search tailered to the area of expertise of my wife, the listings that come up there are where 80% of her sales are and where 80% of her clients need info.

Otherwise, it's pretty much search engines and advice needed by buyers, sellers and relocaters. Standard realtor fare. It ain't original but it sure is useful. Our hit rate has increased almost 10 times since the end of last year when the site underwent major modifications. The site is now truly a part of the business instead of simply an advertisement. We're here to stay in the Internet and so are a lot of other realtors. And if you want info about Mesa and Apache Junction, Arizona, I have one of the best places to go and find it :)

thx -- Russ

Sorry, that will no longer be true, since this part of the forum will close in a few days.
