Submitting to DMOZ

I am a webmaster and have submitted sites in the past to DMOZ and they were usually approved in 6 months.
This was like 2 years ago. I have noticed in the past year none of my clients sites have been added to the DMOZ. Why is this happening? It is strange 10 sites none approved to 10 different realtors.

Ah, it will save you a lot of time if you submit directly to the right category -- presumably you know it, right, it's your client?

That way you don't have to wait so long with the other obviously missubmitted sites -- for an editor who wants to waste time doing what the submitter could have done earlier, and move the site where it can start waiting for an editor who wants to review that kind of site.

Yes, follow the procedures, skip the middleman, save us time, and get directly to the editor who's most likely to be interested in your site.

I can't understand why that approach is so unpopular. But it is often a major factor to the sites that are delayed for a really really song time -- webmasters get so frustrated, and all because the time they forced us to waste, comes off the top of their life also!

Well, yes, you submitted it to the right category but that wasn't Princeville. The site is awaiting review in Kapaa.

BTW it really helps us if site status requests are confined to the Site Submission Status forum. I'm moving this thread there.

It could already be approved, and it could take another three years. We have no way of telling.

...and this is why we are so harsh when it comes to incorrectly submitted sites: It could be waitng for more than two years in the wrong submission pool, before it gets moved to the correct pool, where it starts waiting all over again.
