Status of www.localchicksonline.com

I submitted my site a little over a month ago and just wanted to know what the status was on it.

The address is: http://www.localchicksonline.com

I would also like to know if a site is rejected, do you notify the submitter with details on how to improve it to be accepted the next time it's submitted?

Thank you very much for taking the time to research and respond to this.

It hasn't been touched yet, and quite frankly it's taking too long for me to load your front page to even hazard a guess at which category you've submitted it to (a clickable link to the category would help)...

>>do you notify the submitter with details on how to improve it to be accepted the next time it's submitted?<<

No, the quantity of submissions that we receive prohibits us from doing that.

I'm sorry about the load time on my index page. I have fixed this now, and it loads much quicker.

I submitted the site to adult, image galleries, amateurs, members, L

What you're saying, though, is that the site is still in line to be considered?

Thank you, again.

It's there in the queue for Adult/Image_Galleries/Amateurs/Members/L/. You only submitted it 11 days ago, so it's a bit early to be asking for a status check.

If I'm honest, I think you'd be very lucky to get a listing. Just over 100 pics is a very low number for a pay site and, from what I can see on your tour, the images don't seem to be organised in any useful way. You're going to need to significantly improve the site before I would consider it. Luckily for you, the site doesn't work properly in my browser (Mozilla 1.3) so I won't be the one reviewing it.

We check each site carefully before we list it, and to do this for pay sites we need a username/password. When you have built up the content a little, re-submit with a username and password tagged on to the end of the description.

Well, I appreciate the honesty. I didn't know to include a username and password. I will have to do this because the site is much better than you think. It is organized in a much better way than the free tour. On the tour, I picked the largest cities in the US and that's that. On the site, there are well over 2400 pictures that are organized very well, and very easily for anyone in any country to find what they're looking for.

I joined selfpromote.com in April and have been submitting through them since then. Don't know what could have happened to the rest of my submits, and I'm sorry to bother you about this if you have only received my submission 11 days ago.

I'm not familiar with the browser you're using, and would love to know what I need to do to get my site to work on it. I developed everything with Dreamweaver and Flash. Good thing you were able to view the index page and the tour though. I'll start submitting with a username and password.

Thanks for your time in answering my questions.

Remember that the tour is the only way people have of judging what your site will be like. If the tour looks bad, people will assume that the site is bad.

>> On the site, there are well over 2400 pictures <<

Then you'll want to change that bit on the index page where it says "We have over 100 pictures of girls from a few major cities".

>> I joined selfpromote.com in April and have been submitting through them since then. <<

That's a very bad idea.

Assuming they offer some sort of auto-sumbmission system, those are the companies that get sites a bad reputation. If a site is already listed, we hate getting constant re-submissions for it. If a site is already in the unreviewed queue, each new submission over-writes the previous one. If the editor there sorts the queue by date (which is the default) each submission will knock you to the bottom of the queue.

The problem I saw last time isn't there now, so it must have just been one of those strange glitches that happen every now and then.

Thank you very much for replying that quickly! I guess that the resubmission thing is why you saw that I only submitted 11 days prior! Now, I just resubmitted again, but I put the username and password in this time. I'll stop submitting now knowing what you just told me. I'm sort of ticked off that I submitted like I did.

As far as my trial page goes, I'll put some more thought into it. I can't really think of a way to just have those pictures available and organize it better. I'd love to do what I did inside of the site, but I can't

Thank you, again, for your help - I really appreciate it.

I've just taken a look at your latest submission to check it'd been received. Putting the username and password in the URL was a bad idea. Apart from the fact that it didn't work (I got an "Access to the port number given has been disabled for security reasons" message), if the editor didn't notice it they could have accidentally published it like that. I've corrected it for you and put the user/pass into the description. Don't worry, that's where we're used to seeing it, so we'll know to strip it out before listing it.

I won't be the one reviewing your site as it's horribly broken inside. Apart from your use of file names with spaces in them, the Flash movie does nothing on my machine, I just get a blank black page. Since I don't have Internet Explorer, I can't say whether it would work with that.
