We really do need the clickable link to the category. Just navigate to the category from http://dmoz.org and copy & paste the address from the address bar into your post.

Well, you were given a status report on July 25, which means that you are eligible to ask for another status check on or after January 25.

In the interim, since the clickable link fairy provided a link to the category where you are waiting, you are free to browse the category any time you wish to see if your site has been listed. We add thousands of sites every day and you never know if yours might be among them on any given day.

We don't have a lot of editorial resources active in Queensland at the moment. That could all change tomorrow of course but there are vacancies if anyone is interested? Nice climate, wonderful si(gh)t(e)s... ;)

oneeye,

Nice climate, wonderful si(gh)t(e)s
Quite true, but the DMOZ Queensland is lacking maps and especially views! Almost none anywhere I looked, including Cairns, Brisbane, the Far North, Gold Coast, South East and the Sunshine Coast. All there seems to be is an occasional map and absolutely NO photo sites. I was in Cairns a while back and saw a lot worthy of pictures like the Great Barrier Reef area or maybe the rain forest areas. Even the town is worth a few photos, but nothing is anywhere to be seen in DMOZ. Some work is definitely needed here.

Proud to be the official Most Long-Winded Editor 2004
And who might be some of the other contenders for this honor? - I can probably guess based on much that I've read in these fora.

Cheers, shama.

If they build 'em we will list 'em (good quality photo and map sites that is), eventually. All they have to do is suggest 'em. But if you look closer you'll see quite a few hidden away on community portal sites and tour operator sites and accommodation sites and even real estate sites. And government sites and ...

As to the contenders for most long-winded, there are none that I take seriously. ;)

:) :) :) I did apply to be an editor of this catagory but my appliication was rejected. My website has some nice photos of Moreton Island if anyone would care to have a look. Talk to you all in another six months. Thanks Russell.

Have another go - some editors take half a dozen shots before they make it. You can string a sentence together and as long as you follow the guidance and are 100% honest in all aspects of your application it might be worth another go? I have looked after Moreton Island myself in the past but my time is very limited - one day I hope to go there and meet the dolphins so even if I don't get the time to review the site I will bookmark it for future reference! Best of luck. :)

ok, I can't resist (apologies in advance....)

That's ok, oneeye, we don't take you seriously, either.
