It is hard, and always getting harder, to build a "directory" that is recognizably unique content.

Theoretically, you could search out and find enough unique content to add to make the site unique. But -- the Open Directory Asheville category is sort of a benchmark. If you can't build something better than that, if you can't build a procedure to maintain something better than that, then it is not likely a future submittal would fare any better.

<added>Netjim was too fast. I need to start incorporating the "rising standards for directories" spiel by reference.
