thanks for your reply .
I am suggesting that possibly this is not the absolute correct placement.
Our company services and accepts bookings for the entire of queensland.

Being a limousine company our office location is irrelevant to its directory placement and service area, people dont come to us we go to them.

Also our competitors are located in the directory as first listed.

The site should be listed in the locality where the limousines the company owns are. If there are other sites misplaced according to that rule, we'd move them.

Thanks for your reply.
To me that doesnt make sense - if you where looking for a limousine wouldnt you be looking for the area they service ?

Regardless - We have one limousine based in broadbeach - one in mermaid beach - one in nerang - four in tweed heads - 3 in brisbane.
We have an office in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast and at Tweed Heads.

Our area of service is from noosa to ballina. A major percentage of queensland.

How was it deterimed that we are based in Mermaid Beach?

The companies currently listed under the originally proposed directory fall into the same category as our company (some of the current listed companies i believe wouldnt have as large of a service area as us) .

I hope commonsense can prevail here and I thank you for your efforts.

Regards

Rod

Sadly none of that information is on the site, and we dont go chasing submitters to see why they have left out information that allows us to categorise it.

In the Regional branch of the directory Limo services are one of the few that are normally listed by service area, but thats got to be backed up on the site, not by vague claims. You could claim to serve Broome, WA but we both know thats stretching the facts of 'normal service area'.

At State level in Queensland the sites are actually located in the Recreation category that you asked about in post #1 of this thread, and if it meets the listing requirements for the Receation Branch, thats where it should be listed.

If however it is determined that you serve a smaller area of Qld, then the site would be listed in that smaller areas Transportation category.

In general in the Regional branch sites are listed by actual physical location. In this specific case the normal pick-up and drop-off area around that physical location(s) is usually considered to be of more benefit to the directory user.

<remove editor hat>
At a quick glance (not a review) there is no information that leads me to believe the site is for a physical limo company as opposed to a booking agency for limos. Seriously, there are no locations, office addresses, staff details, or non generic fleet information
<replace hat>

thankyou for your detailed reply.

We dont sell eggs we dont milk cows we dont do anything but derive an income from servicing clients with thier needs for limousines.

I have chosen not to be over specific on information that isnt required.
I will agree the site is optimsed for key popular areas.

I would prefer not to discuss in detail how I operate my business in an open forum. I am happy to discuss this in private and in confidence.

I am also happy to discuss in private specifics of limousine company operation to which you have made reference.

I also invite you to cast a glance over the other sites listed and view in comparison referencing to the guidelines you have stated.

I cant see how anyone would want to claim they serviced broome when they couldnt? Wheres the benefit??

The point is, we don't discuss this in public OR private. We simply look at what's on the website. What we expect to see on a business site is information about the business -- and the details you gave above (but not on the website) are critical aspects of that information.

We get hammered with submitters who would have us abandon our editing efforts by giving daily status checks, if we allowed it.

We tried few rules, we tried a loose 30 day rule, we tried a strict 30 day rule and now we have a strict 6-month role. Some of us wish there were a one check a year rule, others have simply stopped providing status checks because the level of abuse is simply not worth it.

http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31096 can we keep them together please.

could i please have a submission status for site: www.limofinder.com.au
site submitted on the 16-12 to http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/T...ania/Australia/
ROFL - Rejected!!!!!!!

That wasn't even subtle mate! There is only one entry, and that is for your business that has already been submitted. I would have said "nice try". But it wasn't even close. :D

BTW - all limo companies are now listed in Regional, not in Recreation (a change made last year and still in transition). Unless you have bricks and mortar offices scattered around, and they are shown on the site, and I can verify them, I always list such businesses by the actual locality where they are based. The reason is the service areas are very fluid, as with car hire firms and real estate agents. So whilst a not perfect solution, it is fairest to all to list them where their bricks and mortar are located.

As for the limo hire site, how did I originally know it was Mermaid Beach? Well it is on the site now as Head Office but if it wasn't there it probably took me moments to find.
