Could you please give me the status of www.parisnet.net?

This site was previously listed in your category:

Regional: Europe: France: Regions: Ile-de-France: Paris: Travel and Tourism: Lodging: Vacation Rentals

It was number 1 in this category. Now it seems to have been deleted. I did a search and the site is not listed anywhere on dmoz.org. It was resubmitted about 4 months ago but it still hasn't reappeared. How could it be deleted?

Thanks

kevin

I am afraid that an editor considered that it did not meet our Guidelines - Site Selection Criteria and accordingly it was removed from the directory.

Please be aware that all sites that are listed within the directory can be subject to a review at anytime. In this instance it was felt that the site was no longer eligable for a listing.

So is there anyway we can get eligible again? Are we banned or did we just do something that can be fixed?

The only reason I can think of for us being removed is that we bought the domain parisnet.com and made this domain name forward to parisnet.net (with no domain name masking) because our host provider would not let us have two domains pointing to the same server. However, the content is identical for each domain name.

We have a new server now and during the next month or two we will move to there so we won't have anymore domain name forwarding.

Parisnet.com was listed in dmoz under another category (i'm not sure which).

One more question, is parisnet.net still in the queue to be reveiwed or has it already been reviewed during the last 4 months and still not accepted?

It was not that you done anything wrong and your site was not banned in the manor that you are thinking. It is just simply that the site is not one that was considered to be of sufficient use to our users.

We prefer to list the source of information and not downstream users and in this case the 'source' is already listed.

I don't have permission to check your 'one more question' however I am afraid the answer is the same and it is unlistable. Our forum guidelines prevent me from elaborating as to the specific reasons for not isting a site however I am sure that you can work out from my post the reasons when compared with our guidelines.

hello again. Ok well a certain percentage of our content is 'downstream' as you say, but the content that relates to the category in question is all unique and in most cases not to be found elsewhere.

If we create a subdomain for the original content is that listable?

any chance of getting a reply regarding the above. Perhaps a mistake was made. We are listed under vacation rentals. Our site has over 40 unique vacation rental listings for paris. True we have some affiliate hotels and other affiliate deals, maybe about 6 or 7 links to affiliate sites in other sections. But the number one site in this vacation rental category has 6 vacation rentals on over 300 links to other sites. It's hard to see how you can say that site offers more original content.

The address of the site, subdomain or other, will not make any real difference as that is just superficial. We look at content and not the address to get to the content and this was looked at and not considered to be a candidate for a listing at that time.

If you are concerned about the quality of some of the site listed and their connection with affiliates etc then please do report them to us by using the abuse thread at: http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5453 as we are constantly trying to improve the quality of the site listed and sometimes site have clearly outlived their listing eligability and for that reason every site is constantly at risk or re-assessment.

Be aware however that we will not discuss further editorial decisions however we will be pleased to look into genuine reports of abuse or inappropriate content/listings. Your support in weeding out these listing will be appreciated.
