Status of www.princess-diana.com

Sorry- i made a mistake with my last post. Here again.
I submitted 2 Sites:
- http://www.princess-diana.com
- http://www.princess-diana.co.uk
to the categorie
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Uni...People/Royal_Family/Diana,_Princess_of_Wales/


What is the status of my submission, please?

Both sites are waiting for review. I won't be the one to review them, but as far as I can see prinzessin-diana.net is the only one that could be listed - that is also waiting for review in the same category, as is prinzessin-diana.info. prinzessin-diana.de has been removed from the unreviewed in that category, however, as it is in German.

Does it means, that princess-diana.com and princess-diana.o.uk could not be listed ? Why?

You have chosen to split your site about Princess Diana up into several domains - that is your choice, but the ODP sees them as all one inter-related site. Therefore it will only get listed once This is a very definite ODP policy.

1) Ok - it accept this. So what can I personally do to see the mastersite www.princess-diana.com submitted in ODP as the mother of all the inter-related sites? Looking at the content, it is probably objective one of the most informativly websites about Diana in the internet
What can I do now?

2) In ODP, there is no categorie for german websites about Princess-Diana. Does that mean, that I can`t submit the german prinzessin-diana.de ?

If enough German sites on Princess Diana get added, then eventually a sub-category would probably be created.

Make it obvious that it is the master site. Put a German flag on the main page which links to the .de site. Put links from each of the other sites BACK to the master site.

That would make it listable.

Ok - I understand and respect the ODP policy.
I changed some sites in this way (but without a flag) and want to ask, if this now would make the mastersite www.princess-diana.com listable ?

Explanation, because it is a bit difficult:
We have got 6 Diana-sites. For german speaking people, there is the wwww.prinzessin-diana.de as THE mastersite for different other domains (in german): .org / .info ... - but unfortunately, ODP hasn`t an exact categorie for german sites about Princess Diana.
Okay...
My interest - and perhaps the interst off the visitors off ODP - is, that the mastersite .com get listed.

For english speaking user, we have got THE mastersite www.princess-diana.com and a small related www.princess.co.uk.
The .com could NOT be THE masterside for the german domains. On the other hand, the .de could not be THE mastersite for the english sites ->
That would be a BREAK of the usabulity: Imagine, that a german visitor would read something like "BACK to the mastersite www.princess-diana.com" on which he doesn`t understand anything.
So - what I see, is that I have 2 Mastersites with differnet interrelated domains.
AND the ODP categories show me, that ODP also watch the content of the sites in that way of the language: English / Rest of the world.

SO...
Isn`t it possible to get listed in the ODP with the .com in the categorie

and / or get listed with the .de??? Or just one ?
Is the result of the good policy, that not any of our Dianasites is listable and nobody could find this domains, even if the content would be great?
But on the other hand, there are - in comparison - poor Diana-pages listed in the ODP-categorie?

Or is it just impossible to get listed with just ONE of my sites?

I hope, that I didn`t hurt anybody with my last post. Did I? If so, it was not my intention.

I think, the ODP policy means, that ODP don`t want to list links - they want to list websites. And if a website is splitted into several domains, ODP regards it as 1 website.
Is this correct? Is this also valid for websites with 2 languages? If so, why does ODP offers the categories english and "rest of the world" ?

So... can anybody of the editors please give me an answer of my last posting referring to my problem?

Sorry, Andreas - I know I started writing a reply but evidently I didn't finish it

We can't tell you whether your site is listable or not - that would mean we'd have to review it, which we don't do on this board (it's in the Forum Guidelines.) I will say that to me, www.princess-diana.com certainly looks like the main site now, which it didn't when I looked at it a few days ago.

The "one site - one listing" rule does have exceptions, and different languages is the most obvious one. Generally, we want to list the same domain for each language, but in some cases that isn't possible. In any case, your site should definitely be submitted to a German category as well - which you already did, and it is waiting for review there www.princess-diana.com does have a link to the German side as well, so I don't know what the German editor will decide.
